The concept of destiny in Islam

20/12/2025

Destiny is one of the pillars of faith in Islam, and it means that everything in a person's life is predetermined by Allah Almighty. Muslims believe that Allah Almighty has written the decrees of everything in the preserved tablet before creation, and that everything that happens in life, whether good or bad, is by His decree.

Belief in destiny is considered an essential part of faith in divine decree, where a Muslim must believe that everything that happens in their life is according to Allah's will, and that nothing occurs in the universe except by Allah's decree. However, Islam emphasizes that a person is responsible for their actions and choices, and that they will be held accountable for what they have done.

Belief in destiny instills tranquility and reassurance in the Muslim's heart, for they know that everything is under the control of Allah Almighty, and that nothing happens except by His knowledge and wisdom.
