The role of social media in modern Islamic life
13/12/2025

Social media has become an integral part of daily life, playing a significant role in communication among Muslims around the world. These platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok can be effective tools in spreading religious awareness and teaching people about Islam, but at the same time, they can be misused.
Islam directs Muslims to use social media to spread goodness and knowledge, and to warn against using these platforms to spread rumors, discord, or content that harms others. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “He who does not thank people does not thank Allah,” which emphasizes the importance of using these platforms to spread goodness and truth.
Social media can be used to strengthen Islamic ties and teach the youth correct Islamic values, but this should be done with caution and in accordance with the teachings of the religion.
